Registration is now open for the Alaska Landfill Operator Training (ALOT), a free online training offered by the Alaska Forum for operators of Class III landfills and open dumps serving rural Alaska communities.

This updated training expands upon previous RALO, RALA, and HHW courses to provide a comprehensive certification experience covering:

  • Core responsibilities of landfill operators
  • Personal and community safety practices
  • Proper handling and prevention of hazardous materials
  • Best practices for maintaining safe landfills and protecting community health

If you attended the 2026 Alaska Forum, you are already registered and can access the training through your virtual attendee hub.

This training may be of interest to Tribal environmental professionals, solid waste managers, landfill operators, public works staff, and others responsible for solid waste management in rural Alaska communities.
