EPA has proposed amendments to the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants for the Polyether Polyols Production (PEPO) industry. PEPO are chemical products used to make lubricants, adhesives, sealants, cosmetics, soaps, and polyurethane foams. If finalized, the proposed rule would protect public health by significantly reducing the number of people with elevated cancer risks related to emissions of toxic air pollutants from PEPO production facilities.
