Mid-format batteries are rechargeable batteries between 11 and 25 pounds with 300 to 2,000 watt-hour ratings. They include e-bikes, e-scooters, portable power stations, and outdoor power equipment. EPA is working to develop battery collection best practices and voluntary battery labeling guidelines to increase battery recycling, reduce landfill waste, recover valuable materials from used products. Register for the following working sessions:
